Richmond Bakeries

The holidays are right around the corner — have you put in your cookie order yet? Though our real estate agents love baking cookies, this is one of those years where we could all use one less to-do on our plates. Instead of baking yourself into a frenzy, order holiday cookies from these Richmond area bakeries.

Bread in Richmond

Raise your hand if you've spent the last few months making homemade bread. If you're in the same boat as our real estate agents, then you can agree that it's time to leave it to the professionals. Thankfully, National Homemade Bread Day is right around the corner and we encourage you to visit one of these local RVA bakeries for a loaf of homemade bread on Tuesday, November 17th.

Ice Cream in Richmond

Grab your spoon! National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 19th, and you'd better believe that our real estate agents are ready to devour scoop after scoop! National Ice Cream Day is always the third Sunday in July (which also happens to be National Ice Cream Month) and celebrates one of our favorite desserts. Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at one of these Richmond ice cream parlors.

  1. Scoop – 403 Strawberry St., Richmond, VA 23220
Looking for the scoop on National Ice Cream Day? Then you need to head to Scoop, the small-batch ice cream shop that churns our signature and seasonal flavors that everyone will love. Located in the Fan, they produce flavors that are vegan as well as gluten-free. We suggest ordering an ice cream flight (3 mini scoops with three cookie wedges), so you can try multiple flavors. Do note that they also make ice cream cakes, including custom orders, which are perfect for birthday parties, anniversaries, and celebrating National Ice Cream Day, of course!

Richmond Basketball Courts

Sure, a lot of our real estate agents are glued to the TV on March weekends catching the big games. But the fun and excitement of your full-court action are never far away here in Richmond.

There are plenty of gyms and community sports centers where you can enjoy a game or get your brand of exercise. Basketball, softball, tennis, swimming, and more are popular here.

Because the weather is so mild most of the year, you'll find plenty of indoor and outdoor courts to choose from. Plus, many communities have adult leagues and weekend teams to join. Of course, kids, teens, and twenty-somethings will find plenty of opportunities.

Let's look at five favorites for basketball in and around Richmond:

  1. RockIt Sports – 3001 East Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23228
RockIt Sports is just outside central Richmond and only a "full-court drive" away from Henrico homes for sale. Established in 2013, RockIt provides quality personalized instruction in a range of athletic pursuits. In addition to its NCAA regulation-size hardwood court, there's also an additional hardwood loft court upstairs, bullpen setups, and a 10"x10" indoor infield.
