Richmond Basketball Courts

Sure, a lot of our real estate agents are glued to the TV on March weekends catching the big games. But the fun and excitement of your full-court action are never far away here in Richmond.

There are plenty of gyms and community sports centers where you can enjoy a game or get your brand of exercise. Basketball, softball, tennis, swimming, and more are popular here.

Because the weather is so mild most of the year, you'll find plenty of indoor and outdoor courts to choose from. Plus, many communities have adult leagues and weekend teams to join. Of course, kids, teens, and twenty-somethings will find plenty of opportunities.

Let's look at five favorites for basketball in and around Richmond:

  1. RockIt Sports – 3001 East Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23228
RockIt Sports is just outside central Richmond and only a "full-court drive" away from Henrico homes for sale. Established in 2013, RockIt provides quality personalized instruction in a range of athletic pursuits. In addition to its NCAA regulation-size hardwood court, there's also an additional hardwood loft court upstairs, bullpen setups, and a 10"x10" indoor infield.
  2. Big Ben's Home Court – 2206 Westwood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230
Big Ben's Home Court is dedicated to providing the authentic basketball experience to young people. It leads a variety of basketball camps aimed at kids and teens. Not only that, but it also offers social events to have fun and build ties within the community. There's a state of the art hardwood court, men's and women's locker rooms, and bleachers. All this is just minutes from Richmond homes for sale.
  3. Woodlake Swim & Racquet Club – 5000 Woodlake Village Parkway, Midlothian, VA 23112
Woodlake offers fitness and athletic equipment in a beautiful environment a short way outside of Richmond and close to Midlothian homes for sale. The Woodlake Swim & Racquet Club is an ideal option for an energetic adult lifestyle. Besides basketball, you can find dedicated personal trainers, one of the region's best aquatic centers, and the Kid Zone featuring age-appropriate active play outdoors.
  4. Henrico County Open Gym Programs – 6800 Staples Mill Road, Henrico, VA 23228
Henrico County Open Gym Programs are operated by the Department of Parks & Recreation. Two different county facilities are actively offering open gym time, including Eastern Henrico Recreation Center and Deep Run Recreation Center. Both these modern, stylish facilities are fully stocked with indoor and outdoor b-ball opportunities as well as fun for the whole family.
  5. Shady Grove Family YMCA – 11255 Nuckols Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059
Shady Grove Family YMCA is one of the most beloved of the 17 YMCA campuses sprinkled throughout the Richmond area. Conveniently located near Glen Allen homes for sale, it's been helping kids and adults build healthy habits since 1995. It currently offers seasonal sports, a weight loss program, pre-school, and much more. There is something for everyone here!
