Check out this list of our real estate agents' favorite local Halloween-themed attractions and activities to get the party started.

Richmond Ghost Tour: Sinister Secrets of Shockoe Bottom

Address: Outside 16 N 17th Street, Richmond, VA 23219

The Richmond Ghost Tour takes participants on a trek through RVA's most well-known spooky and haunted locations. Some of the places you'll visit with your guide include:

  • The Waverly House, an old home haunted by the spirits of the 19 soldiers who died there when it was used as a field hospital during the Civil War
  • The Edgar Allen Poe House, the childhood home of the famous author and poet
  • Cold Harbor Battlefield, the site of one of the most devastating Civil War conflicts
  • Mason's House, an old Masonic Temple that is said to be haunted by those who died during the group's secretive rituals

This tour lasts around an hour and covers approximately one mile. Tickets cost $26 per person or $17 per child under 13. Kids under 6 can come along for free.

Ashland Berry Farm

Address: 12607 Old Ridge Road, Beaverdam, VA 23015

Ashland Berry Farm is one of the most popular Halloween outing spots for Richmond families. Their all-you-can-carry pumpkin hayride deal is just $30 per family and gets you armloads of pumpkins and a good time. You can also purchase passes to extra activities like their 3D Boo House junior haunted house attraction and their Pumpkin Escape Room for an additional fee.

If you're looking for something more intense, just wait until the sun goes down. That's when their four Terror on the Farm attractions open. These spine-chilling experiences are sure to thrill even the most seasoned horror fans.

Hollywood Cemetery Tour: Richmond Lore and the Civil War

Address: 412 S Cherry Street, Richmond, VA 23220

Fans of old cemeteries will love the Hollywood Cemetery Tour, a guided experience that will take you on an irresistibly spooky walk through Richmond's oldest graveyard. There are dozens of important historical figures buried on this property, including former presidents John Tyler and James Monroe. Your guide will take you to see all the most noteworthy grave sites, offering insight into the area's Civil War history and pointing out any ghostly phenomena that may occur.

The tour lasts approximately two hours and covers most of the cemetery grounds. Tickets start at $24 per person but vary in cost depending on when you book.

Creepy Hollow Scream Park

Address: 14437 Stone Horse Creek Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059

If you're willing to drive just a little further than Richmond city limits, Glen Allen's Creepy Hollow Scream Park has an immersive horror experience waiting for you. This year, the park has four distinct scares in store:

  • Scream Forest, a spooky section of the woods where horrors lurk around every turn
  • Nightmare Labs, an area dedicated to the cruel experiments of the fictional Doctor X
  • Stone Horse Creek Sanitarium, an area staged to resemble a twisted version of an old-fashioned mental health treatment facility
  • Axl's Dark Carnival, a circus-themed area with plenty of creepy clowns

The attraction is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting at 7 PM with an extra night of operation on Thursday, the 30th. It takes most people about an hour to get through all four areas of the park. Tickets cost $28 per person, with coupons available.
