Richmond Events

No place throws a party like Richmond, which means there's no end to the lively activities celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Our real estate agents share some of the events on their calendars for the upcoming holiday.

  • CARES St. Patty's Day 5K - Dorey Park and Recreation Center, 2999 Darbytown Rd., Henrico, VA 23231
    There may not be a pot o' gold at the end, but the CARES St. Patty's Day 5K still promises holiday fun for all. On Saturday, March 15, don your green finery and join the other leprechauns for a 9 a.m. start time. The Virginia Capital Trail, not far from Henrico homes for sale, makes for a beautiful backdrop as you proceed along the course. Stay afterward for live music, refreshments, and St. Patty's Day-themed activities. The registration fee is $25, and proceeds support pro-bono physical therapy services for those in need.

  • St. Patrick's Day Slumber Party Murder Mystery - Maggiano's Little Italy, 11800 W. Broad St.#2204, Richmond, VA 23233
    This year, St. Patrick's Day steals some of Halloween's thunder with scary goings-on. At the St. Patrick's Day Slumber Party Murder Mystery, the host is suspiciously missing. Is the culprit Mother Nature, Father Time, the Easter Bunny, or one of the other notable guests? Prizes will be awarded for first-, second-, and third-place teams that solve the mystery. Ticket price includes a three-course family-style meal with Irish-inspired dishes. Showtime is 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, and tickets are $70.

  • COTU Irish Festival - Center of the Universe Brewing Co., 11293 Air Park Rd., Ashland, VA 23005
    On Saturday, March 16, the community around Ashland homes for sale becomes the center of the universe with the COTU Irish Festival. Two bands keep the energy high-level while you dine on traditional Irish dishes from EAT Catering. COTU will also have seasonal brews such a 4-Leaf Lager on tap. Hours are 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., and admission is free for this all-ages event.

  • St. Patrick's Day Candle-Making Workshop - PlantHouse, 3356 W. Moore St., Richmond, VA 23230
    Do holidays get your creative juices flowing? Spend an evening with other artisans-in-training at the St. Patrick's Day Candle-Making Workshop. Craft your own unique candle from start to finish, pouring wax and mixing scents such as Butterscotch & Bourbon or Beach Linen. Eight-ounce vessels with lids are included in the $35 admission, and drinks will be available for purchase. The workshop takes place on Saturday, March 16 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Shamrock the Block - Leigh St., Richmond, VA 23230
    Break out of cabin fever in a big way with Shamrock the Block. 2024 marks the 18th year in which this popular event kicks off the outdoor festival season around Richmond homes for sale. Bring Fido along to this family-friendly event with food and beverages, a Kids Area, and live music all day long. Shamrock the Block is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 from noon - 6 p.m. and admission is free.
