Richmond Holiday Events

The holidays are upon us, and there are so many great ways to celebrate the season here in RVA! Join our REALTORS® as we guide you through some of this year's best and most exciting holiday events in Richmond.

  • Christmas Market Pop-Up at Hardywood - 2410 Ownby Ln, Richmond, VA 23220
One doesn't really need an excuse to visit Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, makers of some of the best beer in Richmond. But you'll have a good one on Saturday, December 9, when the brewery hosts a Pop-Up Christmas Market. Vendors will be offering a wide variety of local handmade items like jewelry, decor, art and apparel. Located just minutes from these Richmond homes for sale, it's a great opportunity to get some shopping done (and maybe sample Hardywood's award-winning Gingerbread Stout).

  • Richmond Ballet - The Nutcracker - 600 E Grace St, Richmond, VA 23219
The Nutcracker is a holiday classic, and you'll have several opportunities to take in a magical performance. This new production of the Nutcracker with the Richmond Ballet is directed by Stoner Winslett and will feature the original Tchaikovsky score performed by the Richmond Symphony. Seventeen performances take place across multiple nights from December 8 through 24.

  • Holidays at the Jefferson - 101 W Franklin St, Richmond, VA 23220
The Jefferson Hotel was first opened in 1895, and this luxurious beaux-arts style hotel is known as one of Richmond's most unique and spectacular architectural landmarks. Every year, the hotel hosts Holidays at the Jefferson, during which the space will be adorned in thousands of lights, hundreds of live poinsettias and more than a dozen decorated trees, including a 30-foot Christmas tree in the Rotunda. Reservations are also available for holiday dining at the on-site Lemaire Restaurant for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

  • Holiday Trivia at James River Cellars - 11008 Washington Hwy, Glen Allen, VA 23059
If you're looking for some festive fun with friends this holiday season, head to James River Cellars on December 16 for Holiday Trivia from 3 pm to 5 pm. The trivia theme for this event is "holiday movies," and you'll be able to test your knowledge in teams of up to 8 people. You can also sample some of the best wines in Virginia while you're here. Be sure to check out James River Cellars' online calendar for more holiday events!

  • Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical - 6 N Laurel St, Richmond, VA 23220
The touring Broadway production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical arrives in Richmond this holiday season, and you don't want to miss it! This modern reimagining of the Dr. Seuss classic will be performed over the course of multiple nights from December 12 through 17 at the spectacular Altria Theater, the largest venue of Richmond CenterStage's performing arts complex.

  • Sip & Shop Holiday Market - 9200 Stony Point Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23235
The annual Sip & Shop Holiday Vendors Market returns to Richmond once again this holiday season, providing some great opportunities to shop local. You'll find something for everyone on your list at the market (and maybe a little something for yourself), which is held at Stony Point Fashion Park every weekend from Black Friday to Christmas Eve. You can count on a range of vendors offering unique handmade jewelry, fashion, kitchen goods and more. Food, drink and entertainment will also be provided.
