  • Kabana - 700 E. Main St., Richmond, VA 23219
    As the highest rooftop restaurant in Richmond, Kabana provides spectacular panoramic views of the city.  Diners can take in all the sights from the lofty location on the 20th floor of the Hampton Inn & Suites. Appropriately, one of their small plate dishes is Roof Tops, featuring a mixture of lump crab, cream cheese, and seasonings served over tater tots. Hours are 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 4 p.m. - midnight Thursday, 4 p.m. - 1 a.m. Friday, 2 p.m. - 1 a.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday.

  • The Hofheimer Rooftop - 2818 W. Broad St., Richmond, VA 23230
    Richmond's hip Scott's Addition district is the lively setting for the Hofheimer Rooftop. Local landmarks such as the Flying Squirrels Diamond and the Science Museum of Virginia are within view from the restaurant, situated on the third floor of the Historic Hofheimer Building. Their authentic Neapolitan pizzas pair well with a craft beer or specialty cocktail. Follow their Facebook page for information about live music shows. The Hofheimer Rooftop is open 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. - midnight Friday, noon - midnight Saturday, and noon - 9 p.m. Sunday.

  • The Pit and the Peel - 1210 W. Main St., Richmond, VA 23220
    Is food healthier when you eat outdoors? Maybe not, but it sure feels that way at The Pit and the Peel. Their rooftop seating is the perfect place to dine on their tasty dishes made with nutritious, high-quality ingredients. Start your day with a lox and bagel sandwich or avocado toast, or get some midday energy from one of their sandwiches and wraps. Smoothies and açai bowls make for easy carry-out snacks or meals. Caffeine lovers can choose from an extensive menu of espressos, Americanos, cold brews, lattes, and other coffee-based beverages. Hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily except Sunday when closing time is 6 p.m.

  • Byrd House - Graduate Richmond, 301 W. Franklin St., Richmond, VA 23220
    Get a bird's-eye view from atop the Graduate Richmond at the Byrd House, a spacious rooftop terrace known for stunning sunset views. Dishes such as salmon tartar tacos, garden caprese salad, and veggie mezze feel tailor-made for a beautiful summer meal. Relive childhood with an order of comforting milk and chocolate chip cookies. Planning a staycation? Spend a night or two at the Graduate and enjoy your cocktail or ice cream sandwich with a dip in the rooftop pool. Byrd House is open 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. daily, with extended hours until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

  • Starr Hill Brewery - 3406 W. Leigh St., Richmond, VA 23230
    Richmond's thriving craft beer scene owes much to Starr Hill Brewery. Founded in 1999, Starr Hill is the second-oldest craft brewery in Virginia. Eats at the Scott's Addition beer hall and rooftop are available from a rotating list of Richmond's top food trucks, and the schedule is jam-packed with live music, karaoke, trivia contests, and other entertaining events. Want to stay closer to the ground? Dogs are welcome on the first-floor patio. Hours are 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Thursday, noon - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon - 7 p.m. Sunday.
