Trolleys and streetcars are now common all over the world, but back in 1888, Richmond was home to the first-ever trolley system. In recognition of this global accomplishment, Shockoe Slip still maintains a single old-fashioned RVA Trolley for tours. Guests can climb on board for a 2-hour trip around the city, visiting major landmarks such as St. John's Church and the State Capitol. These murals were intended to drum up interest in Shockoe Slip's arts scene, and they're still intact today.
