A certain coffee company may try to take credit, but pumpkin spice actually dates back to the late 18th century. Our real estate agents get their pumpkin fix in cupcakes, cookies, and lattes at these wonderful bakeries around Richmond homes for sale.

Thanks to the tasty treats at 7 Muffins a Day, not far from Midlothian homes for sale, those with food allergies or sensitivities can enjoy delicious fall treats. All products are dairy- and gluten-free, made fresh in the on-site kitchen using dedicated pans and storage space. Pumpkin spice enters the lineup of muffin flavors that includes blueberry, cranberry, and coffee. Tea cookies come in biodegradable, ribbon-tied packaging, making them perfect as favors for showers and other events. Dress up the holidays with a pumpkin or sweet potato pie, baked in their own special doughnut crust. Hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.

Pumpkin cake on its own is already pretty delicious. Whisk turns it into a gourmet delight with brown butter cream cheese frosting and spiced pear compote. Their gingerbread cake, topped with vanilla bean frosting and spiced apple cake, is also perfect for fall. Don't miss their signature macarons, and learn how to make your own in one of the hands-on baking classes. Whisk is open 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily except Sunday and Monday when closing time is 2 p.m.

While Carytown Cupcakes offers full-size cakes and cookies, there's no question about the main attraction. In addition to classic chocolate and vanilla, their luscious cupcake flavors include red velvet, choco taco, Oreo peanut butter, and funfetti. You can even pick up sweet or savory pupcakes for your precious pooch. Pumpkin chocolate chip, apple cider, brown butter pecan brownie, and pecan pie join the flavor party during fall. Hours are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily except Sunday when doors open at noon.
WPA Bakery - 3414 Semmes Ave., Richmond, VA 23225
Grandma's homemade goodies get an update for the new millennium at WPA Bakery. Cakes, cupcakes, pies, cheesecakes, cookies, and even biscuits are available in vegan and gluten-free options. Pumpkin is on the fall menu, along with year-round favorite flavors such as hummingbird, carrot, and almond. Meet a friend for breakfast or lunch in the cafe, which serves soups, sandwiches, and an assortment of beverages. WPA Bakery is open from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday.
Pearl's Bake Shoppe - 5811 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23226
While the bakery's namesake is no longer involved, new owners Kelly, Melissa, and Holly are maintaining the charm and tradition of Pearl's Bake Shoppe. Choose from brown butter glaze, brown sugar buttercream, or cream cheese and vanilla buttercream to top the pumpkin cakes and cupcakes. Other seasonal flavors include Fall Festival, featuring cranberry cake with caramelized pear filling and apple butter buttercream frosting. Gluten-free and vegan options can always be found in the daily cupcake and cake pop selections. Hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
